Recommendations

Region Blekinge follows the Recommendations of the Swedish Public Health Agency and is based on their advice.

Your actions are important to prevent the spread of

Everyone has a responsibility to prevent the spread of coronavirus (covid-19). Consider the following:

  • If you feel sick with symptoms such as a sniffling, coughing or fever, try not to see other people. Don't go to work, school or preschool. That's true even if you just feel a little sick.
  • Limit visits to elderly people as far as possible.
  • People over the age of 70 need help to avoid contact with other people.
  • Wash hands with soap and warm water frequently for at least 20 seconds.
  • Cough and sneeze in the arm fold.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose mouth.
  • The State Department advises against non-essential travel to all countries.

There are prohibitions and restrictions on visits to health care

Restraining order in wards Due to coronavirus (covid-19) there are restraining orders in wards at Blekinge Hospital and psychiatry. This means that it is not possible to visit friends or relatives who are hospitalised. If there are special reasons, you can get permission to visit a patient. Then contact the ward where the patient is hospitalized.

Restrictions on accompanying visitors to our receptions

Only one (1) person who does not carry a disease that can be infected himself may accompany care seekers to clinics, health centres or public dental clinics. If the person seeking care is a child, two (2) guardians who do not carry a disease and can be infected may accompany them.

Call the health centre or 1177 if you need advice and care The vast majority of people who get sick do not need to seek medical care because the symptoms usually pass by themselves.

Sampling procedures for suspicion of coronavirus infection (covid-19)

In Blekinge, the following procedures apply for sampling in case of suspicion of infection with coronavirus (covid-19). Samples are taken in patients with fever or respiratory symptoms (runa, cough, or sore throat) in the following cases

  • Patients admitted to hospital (unless another cause of fever is obvious).
  • Patients who are sent home from emergency visits and have municipal efforts in their own home or in special accommodation.
  • Persons in special accommodations or similar with municipal efforts.

Samples are taken of staff with fever or respiratory symptoms (running, cough, or sore throat) after prioritising the head of department.

If you have general questions about covid-19

We follow developments and work together and plan for increased number of cases

Region Blekinge treats the spread of the coronavirus (covid-19) as a crisis situation. We have a plan for how to deal with both a smaller and a larger increase in the number of cases of disease. A small number of cases can be dealt with within the framework of existing resources, but as the number of cases of illness increases, we will need to reprioritise. We are following developments very closely and are cooperating with the County Administrative Board, the county's municipalities, the Swedish Public Health Agency, the National Board of Health and Welfare and the Swedish Municipalities and Regions (SKR) to ensure that health care works in the best way.

Offers of materials

Region Blekinge receives offers of material due to the impact of coronavirus (covid-19) on the supply of materials nationally and locally. We are very grateful for the commitment that exists. We accept offers but can unfortunately only accept some. We need to make a selection based on needs, quality and hygiene requirements and storage space.

Region Blekinge's business department receives offers by e-mail materialerbjudande@regionblekinge.se. However, we are only able to respond to those emails where the offer matches needs and requirements.
